Early Graboid Tests

Film is running forward. The puppeteers were experimenting with slow curling movements, getting better at making the tentacle more lifelike. Each puppeteer controlled about three feet of the tentacle. One controlled the base, one controlled the middle, and one controlled the end (sometimes a fourth controlled the head). Each person had two levers, one for up/down, one for right/left. That's why in these early tests, sometimes the movement is like a drunken snake, because the puppeteers were still learning to co-ordinate their movements.
