Burt's Truck

Postby MacGyver » Fri Mar 17, 2006 8:25 pm

I wanted to know if anyone knew exactly what type of truck was used in Tremors 2. I know it was a deuce and a half. However, there was more to the name and not just deuce and a half. I did have website that had it on there but now I can't find it. So does anyone know what type it is?

There's an article about those trucks in an old issue of Military Machines, I'll see if I can find it and name the truck for you later :wink:

It is a M35A2 2 and 1/2 ton truck. Jp magazine June 2006 issue has an article on them and here's the BIG news; You can get one fromBoyce Equipment for as low as $8,500.oo! I couldn't believe it when I read it either! Now it's not new. It's a refurbished surplus truck. The miles might be low on any given truck. The one tested in the mag had only 9,000 miles on it! You can also legally drive it with just your regular driver's license.

Here's the website if anyone is interested. www.boyceequipment.com

Oh, BTW I wouldn't expect good mileage with it, even though it's a deisel. :lol:

Thanks for the info Landscaper. Would you or anyone know what type of military Burt used for his powerwagon in the series. I am leaving for the marine corps in October. And I can't take my vehicle over to Iraq. So I was thinking about getting a surplus one so thats why I wanted to know Thanks.

Burt's Power Wagon is a late 70s Chevy Blazer K-5;
